Kloes Custom Furniture Collection

I started woodworking in 1977. I bought an old home and needed to learn to fix and make things. I knew nothing. Went to the library and found "Fine Woodworking" magazine and it has been all uphill from there.  I started building furniture for a few small shops in 1997.I quit my full time job in 1999. Most of my work comes from my web site. My furniture is found throughout the U.S. I have become personal friends with all my customers. I will never build 1000's of pieces of furniture because  my work is geared toward the customer's wishes. I start with pictures the customer provides. The customer  and I design what they think they want. They choose the color, hardware, and finish. My favorite style is traditional furniture with highly figured woods. For finishes I prefer a dull sprayed lacquer over dye or painted finishes.  I have a personal library of furniture books that numbers in the hundreds. I am an old hand tool collector and user. I love to research and build old pieces from both Pennsylvania and Canada . I have made a set of DVDs with Charles Neil on the building of Keeping Chests and Candle boxes.
