As well as building solid wood fine
furniture much of my work is in creating furniture quality
cabinetry and built-ins for residential homes and commercial
spaces.
Years of experience:
+15 years of woodworking experience
Where did you learn your
skills?
I am primarily self
taught with the aid a large library of
woodworking publications that I have
accumulated through the years. I enjoy
putting myself in the position of designing
a piece that requires me to acquire a new
skill in order to execute.
Where do you get your
inspiration from?
Most often a
direction initiated through conversation
with the client that has commissioned the
piece of work. Once a direction has been set
I find further inspiration in the materials
at hand and how they relate to one another
and in the surroundings in which they will
be placed.
What Furniture styles/periods do you work in?
I enjoy the challenge of working in many
different styles from Modern to Shaker,
however much of my work has an Arts & Crafts
root to it.
What differentiates your work?
The focus of my furniture is to combine
sustainably harvested domestic materials and
traditional joinery techniques with truly
original one of a kind designs. I love to
play with the grain of the wood to create
visual harmony and interest.
