Where did you learn your
skills?
At Thos. Moser
Cabinetmakers in New Gloucester, Maine I
became a furniture builder. My work
continued in a few other fine cabinet shops
along the Atlantic Coast region, which
strengthened my shop experience and deepened
my respect and appreciation of wood in its
varieties of color, grain, texture, and
density.
Where do you get your
inspiration from?
Inspiration and new
ideas have come from a short list of the
finest builders/designers: Greene & Greene,
Sam Maloof, George Nakashima, Sidney
Barnsley, and a close friend, amateur
woodworker Joe Judd who has asked great
questions and passed on new ideas to inspire
some new thought.
What Furniture styles/periods do you work in?
My experiences include Art & Crafts, Shaker,
Contemporary, Queen Anne, Hepplewhite and
traditional Colonial furniture, which focus
on the client’s space and taste.
What differentiates your work?
I use only native hardwoods and certified
lumber that is a renewable resource. I will
not use wood that affects old growth
forests.
